About
AQUA IN PALATIO is an individual research project conducted by Pablo Gumiel Campos, doctoral candidate in the Universidade Nova de Lisboa. The investigation is framed in the European project PALAMUSTO https://www.palamusto.eu/. This research aims to understand the water supply systems of 16th-century European residences, their technical innovations and the uses of water for practical or leisure purposes. The investigation is essentially centred on the Iberian Peninsula. On this web, a general map of the 94 cases of studies is displayed, together with four specific maps of the water infrastructures in the palaces of Seville, Sintra, Vila Viçosa and El Escorial.
